Jim Sherris received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University
of Florida. He also received a Masters Degree in Urban & Regional
Planning from the University of Florida College of Architecture. Subsequently,
he received his Juris Doctor from Barry School of Law, Orlando where he
was Lead Article Editor of the Barry Law Review, and Training and Coaching
Committee Chairman of the Moot Court Board. While in law school, he clerked
for law firms handling cases dealing in Family Law, Personal Injury Defense,
Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Contract Law, and Products Liability.
Mr. Sherris also completed the American Association for Justice’s
Depositions College program in Birmingham, Alabama, and the Trial Advocacy
College: Essentials of Civil Litigation program in New Orleans, Louisiana.
His legal experience focuses mainly on Personal Injury litigation and Social
Security Disability claims. He handles cases dealing with auto accident
liability, products liability, strict liability for dog bites, products
liability, construction liability and premises liability issues. He also
handles all Social Security Disability claims in the State of Florida.
Mr. Sherris is a licensed member of the Florida Bar and he is admitted
to practice law in Federal Court, in the Middle District of Florida. He
is a member of the American Association for Justice, Florida Justice Association,
American Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, the Asian
Chamber of Commerce, the British Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown
Orlando Partnership. He is also a member of the Federal Bar Association
and the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives.
